Fruit Kabobs & Yogurt Dip
I don’t know what it is about food served on sticks, but my 2 year old goes crazy over it. Serve up a healthy fruit snack on a stick and your kiddos will think you are the best chef in the world, even if you didn’t really cook anything. In my book, mixing and skewering totally count as cooking.
Give your children’s fine motor skills a workout and let them do the skewering part. They will love helping make their snack and they’ll also be more likely to eat it that way. Give your kids a plate or muffin tin full of clean and sliced fruit, including Chiquita bananas, along with a skewer and let them have some fun. I recommend cutting off the sharp part for younger children.
You can serve these fruit kabobs with yogurt dip for added yumminess. Plain yogurt is good, but if you want to get fancy you can add 1 tsp honey and 1/4 tsp cinnamon to 1/4 cup yogurt (any flavor). In the words of my toddler, “this yummy”. Here are a few other healthy snack ideas for the kiddos:
