Fall Is Here! Time To Bake Chiquita Banana and Oatmeal Muffins
Tomorrow is the first day in a very long time that it’s supposed to rain here in Southern California. We had an incredibly hot (even by our standards) and humid (something we aren’t used to) summer and all of us are looking forward to the relief of fall. For me, fall always means one thing: I finally get to bake again after a long hot summer.
I try not to turn on the oven throughout the summer months…it’s just too hot for it. So I use my NuWave oven (yes! it really works!) for anything that is supposed to go in the oven. But I can’t bake in it because it’s just not big enough. So my favorite muffins and cookies and sweets have to wait.
Just within the last couple of weeks I have already made blueberry muffins and my recipe for Chiquita Banana and Oatmeal Muffins. What’s great about this recipe is that it’s healthy, and that you literally just throw ingredients in a bowl and mix them up…it takes about 5 minutes of prep time. Next up? I’m going to make my absolute favorite Almond Poppyseed Muffins.
But I guess fall means more to me than just baking. It means putting on a sweater. It is cold wind on my face. It means getting to use the fireplace inside and the fire pit outside. It means drinking tea in the afternoon. It means taking photos of the changing leaves. Soup for dinner. Putting jeans on. Halloween and then Thanksgiving.
I just realized how much that I love fall! What is your favorite season? For now, mine is fall.
Anyways, back to muffins and baking. Do you have a muffin recipe to share? I am always looking for new ones and would love to try yours out!
