Packing the Summer Memories Away
Well, Labor Day has passed which means the official close of summer is upon us. In so many ways it is sad to see it go but with so many memories backed into the summer it will not be one we will soon forget.
At the beginning of the season we talked a lot about traveling plans and bucket lists. Did you do any of those things? Follow any plans? Take that dream vacation?
For our family adventure took on a whole new meaning for us this summer. Both my husband and I found ourselves with amazing travel opportunities throughout the summer, most of which were taking place in August. As we approached the summer we decided to put away our to-do lists and type-A plans and just take each day/week as it came. We wanted to be apart as little time as we could this summer and wanted to maximize time together so we opted to spend time on the road together.
Yes, we took our 2.5 and 4 year old on many a traveling business trip with us this summer. It most definitely was a lot of hard work and exhaustion but it was so worth it for our family. We got to see places we had never seen, do things we had only dreamed of, ate great food and slumbered in one big room together! It was more than very planned personality could take at times but we had an amazing time.
I can’t wait until next summer when we can do it all again! How about you?
