Operation: “Kinda” Clean House
Not too long ago, I was browsing Pinterest and stumbled upon another blogger’s cleaning chart. She outlined tasks that she wanted to accomplish each day of the week, Monday through Friday. I thought that sounded like a great idea (I’m always looking for ways to stay more organized), so I clicked on the link to her chart.
Whoa. Dude. That girl vacuumed her stairs every other day and washed her exterior windows bi-weekly. Uh, nope. That’s not going to work for me. But, the concept seemed like a good one. So, I came up with my own chart. Chores are outlined by day and by week, for a total of four weeks. Tasks like breaking down cardboard in the garage and de-cobwebbing the house are monthly tasks. Don’t pretend like you don’t get cobwebs.
Other more routine tasks (like picking up Cheerios and sweeping) repeat hourly weekly.
Now, I know that this schedule will not work for everyone. Some people may see this list and think I live in a pig sty, others may think I’m a neurotic headcase that needs to put down the broom. Think what you will, but give it a try and adjust it to your own home’s needs.
I like to put the charts in a flyer stand (available at Staples/Office Depot) and cross of the tasks with a dry-erase marker, adding things that need to be done, and swapping the charts as the weeks go by. One of my favorite things in the whole-wide-world is crossing an item off of a to-do list.
Here’s the Four Week Cleaning Schedule that works for me. Print it off and give it a go!

Happy Tuesday, which for me means…. time to clean the kitchen!
