Fruit Salad Sailboats
These fruit salad sailboats would make the perfect after school healthy snack! They only take a few minutes to make and kids will love eating out of their boats, playing with food encouraged! You can add any type of fruit salad to the boats. My toddler loves Chiquita bananas, apples and grapes in his boat. If you want to add a crafty activity, have kids decorate their sail before attaching it to the stick. Don’t forget to sing “row, row, row your boat” while enjoying this kid-friendly snack.
Materials & Ingredients:
1 apple
Knife
Melon baller or spoon
Lollipop stick or skewer
Cardstock or construction paper
Scissors
Fruit salad (I used Chiquita bananas, grapes and apples)
Directions:
1. Cut the top off an apple and scoop out the inside of the apple using a melon baller or spoon.
2. Fill the apple shell with fruit. I used Chiquita bananas, grapes and apple pieces.
3. Fold a piece of cardstock or construction paper in half and cut into a triangle. Cut two slits in the middle of the triangle and place the lollipop stick or skewer through the slits.
4. Place the sail in the apple “boat” and enjoy!
