30 Before 30 Update
I’m happy to report that I rolled into my thirties without a mid-life crisis or panic attack. It might have helped that I was in Las Vegas, NV on my birthday. As much as I joke about turning the dreaded 3-0, I’m happy to be here. Like I mentioned before, I was self-conscious and always striving for perfection in my twenties. My thirties are all about being content with my non-perfect, happy, sometimes chaotic, always an adventure life. I actually think I’d be pretty miserable in a “perfect” life.
Remember my 30 before 30 list of things I planned on doing before I hit my 30th birthday? Well, I thought I’d give you an update now that I’m officially an old lady in my thirties. I had a blast completing things off my list and it really made my last year of my twenties a memorable one. I’ll admit that I didn’t get to everything, but it was more about making memories than crossing things off the list. I’ll have to learn how to make paella from scratch and take a yoga class in my thirties.

#11 Lose 30 pounds
On my list, I checked off running my very first 5k. I lost close to 30lbs in the process of training for the 5k. I was able to check off donating 10 inches of hair to Locks of Love, and I plan on doing it again as soon as I can grow it back out. Thanks to Baby Signing Time, I learned basic sign language along with my son. I hosted a spring craft party for my friends. I attended a blogging conference and I saw a musical. I planned a backyard picnic for my son, complete with mason jar picnic food. I read over 20 books and I tried a new restaurant.
I love that the list challenged me and pushed me out of my comfort zone. I’ve discovered new passions and hobbies through my list. I’ve also discovered new opportunities and friendships.I might just have to make a new list every year.
