DIY Father’s Day Photo Pencil Holder Gift
My husband’s a techy kind of guy, but he already has all of the latest gadgets and gizmos, so I’m always left wondering what to get my husband for special occasions. With Father’s Day coming up, I decided that I’d help Logan make something special for his pop this year. I came up with this upcycled soup can turned photo pencil holder, something thoughtful and practical. Right up my husband’s frugal alley. This craft is simple enough for older children to do themselves and I bet you have most of the supplies laying around your house already. Dad is sure to love looking at his new photo pencil holder while he’s at work!
Materials Needed:
Empty soup can
Cardstock paper
Photo of dad with child
Mod Podge
Sponge Brush
Scissors
Instructions:
Clean and dry empty soup can. Trim cardstock paper to fit around the soup can. Brush a layer of mod podge over the back of the cardstock paper using the sponge brush and attach the paper around the soup can. Take the photo and cut around the silhouette of dad and child, as shown above. Brush a layer of mod podge over the back of the photo and attach the photo to the soup can, pressing firmly until it adheres. Brush a layer of mod podge over the entire soup can, including over the photo and allow to dry. Present dad with his new pencil holder for his desk on Father’s Day.
