Chiquita Banana Pancake Tradition
The smell of pancakes filled my house on Saturday mornings when I was a child. My mom would shape the batter into my initials or attempt to create whatever animal I requested. Neighborhood friends loved spending the night because of my mom’s pancakes and they still talk about Saturday morning pancake memories. There’s just something about pancakes that make everything better. It’s the taking turns beating the batter into a smooth mixture and having it end in a flour flight. It’s the gathering around the kitchen table, laughing about nothing until your cheeks hurt from smiling.
I adore that I have these memories with my mom and I hope to do the same for my kiddo. Now that I’ve converted to a healthier lifestyle, pancakes aren’t exactly part of my weekly diet anymore. I’m all about enjoying everything in moderation, so I decided to come up with a healthier pancake recipe to carry on this Saturday morning pancake tradition. Instead of sugar, I used honey. Instead of white flour, I used whole wheat. And of course, I added Chiquita bananas. These Whole Wheat Chiquita Banana Pancakes are toddler tested and mom approved. Happy pancake traditions!
